"hello , i wouldn't of thought the pump , the first port of call would be the diesel injectors , these are free to test if you can get them to us and then take it from there . should they need to be overhauled we can arrange after diagnosis if required ., hi i have a cav roto-diesel fuel pump on my boat engine dating back to 1974, which is a volvo penta md21a (same engine was fitted to peugeot 504 & 505)the engine is throwing out lots of blue white smoke and is running a lot noisier than usual,i have changed the fuel filter & checked the timing which seems spot on, when i slacken the nut on the injectors there doesnt seem to be any change to the note of the engine as there should be, this makes me think that the pump must be faulty but i dont want to pay for having it repared unless im sure, what do you think? thanks paul "

"Hi I have a 2003 SAAB 9-5 3.0tdi which won't start I have been told that it is probably the pump as it try's to start with the fuel in the line but then stops. Could you give me a price for a replacement pump fitted many thanks ben

"hello ford connect van,diesel pump leaking fuel onto my alternaer,changes and got 3weeks out off alternaer.i think my seals are away.

The leak could be coming from a number of places on your fuel pump. If your fuel pump is a Bosch VP30 the common fault is the solenoid leaking at the back of the fuel pump in between the outlets. Most of the time the solenoid can be changed with the fuel pump being in situ. I can offer to sell you the Bosch solenoid or to carry out the work for you.

"Hi, just after a bit of advice and a quote. My Volvo S40 1.9d keeps cutting out on the motorway, it usually does a bit of a judder before hand and then just stops. Once on the hard shoulder the car starts up again. Could this be the fuel pump, if so, how much for mail order? Cheers. Claire"

My question is. i have P reg, Audi A6 2.5tdi.When outside cold its start very good,when temperature is over 5,its start just about 6-9 second later...I changed teperature sensor and 5 glow plugs,but still start shit.. whats the problem,can you help? how much is it if you just check the fuel pump and injectors?? thank"

"2006 Hyundai Santa Fe blue smoke out of it when cold starting it, mechanic says injector problems
There are a couple of things that could be wrong with your vehicle if it is blowing out blue smoke. One is that your injectors could be faulty, the other is valve stem oil seals which you could find out if it is the valve stem oil seals by seeing if your vehicle is using more oil than it usually does. If your vehicle is not using an abnormal amount of oil the next step would be to get your injectors tested which we could do for you.
